Then are you going to say that Andy will never get to the top 5 because he can't beat guys like Lisnard and Simon? confused.gif

Match practise >>> Training.

Plus there's hardly anyone is Roehampton now to hit with.

Top 150 players aren't allowed.

look at who he faces, often he beats players of higher ranking or standard to him, then loses to a worse player in the draw, does it all the time, u can't deny facts!! look at his playing activity this year and u'l see my point

and also the pts for winning a 15k would make virtually no difference to the ranking of a top 120 player

boggo world ranking is not reflected in clay, so you cant expect the same performance from him on clay than on fast courts, simple as.

occasioanly boggo will lose to players he should beat, but name me 1 tennis player that doesnt?

even fed and rafa do sometimes

This year he has lost to - Minar, Zib, Bastl, Bozoljac, Dlouhy, Lopez and Reynolds - all either in the top 100/about to break the top 100/former top 100 players.

Yeah, he lost to Jenkins, Niemeyer, Vemic and Baccanelo. They were matches he shouldn't have lost. But you shouldn't blame him for losing to Niemeyer because he was incredibly tired by that match.

Three bad losses in fourteen tournaments isn't bad. And he has beaten three top 100 players this year at the same time, so that more than makes up for it.

Boggo lost in 3?

gutted for him! Find a gym in Prague or Zagreb and bulk up for the moonball-fest next week!

That would be my advice...

Hope he can get a couple of wins in Zagreb - to go into RG with some confidence..

Im not going to do the work for u, go to player activity and on the atp site, u will see he regularly plays well and beats high ranked players and then loses to a poorer opponent in the next round, and arka u agreed to this over a msn convo a few months back

CH R32 (hard) Sluiter, Raemon (NED) 84 2-6 4-6
CH R32(hard) Sluiter, Raemon (NED) 84 6-3 2-6 6-7(5)

10 losses were to top 100 players
1 loss to top 100-200
5 losses to top 200-300
2 losses to top 300-450

Who boggo lost to in 2007

CH R16(hard) Bozoljac, Ilia (SRB) N/A 7-5 0-6 6-7(4)
MDE (hard) Jenkins, Scoville (USA) 390 3-6 6-7(3)
CH Q(hard) Zib, Tomas (CZE) 139 4-6 4-6
MDE(hard) Querrey, Sam (USA) 77 3-6 2-6
CH R16(hard) Reynolds, Bobby (USA) 207 4-6 6-7(5) (boggo defeated him one week later in Valenica)
CH Final(hard) Niemeyer, Frederic (CAN) 331 4-6 5-7 (boggon won tourny prev week... Neimeyer on a very good run and it was close match)
CH Q(hard) Baccanello, Paul (AUS) 235 3-6 7-6(5) 3-6

1 loss to top 100 player
1 loss to top 100-150 player
2 losses to top 151-250 players
1 loss to top 251-400 player

all matches in 2007 been on hardcourt which we all know is not alex's besy (indoor carpet is) he had been 2 atp tournys which shows hes trying to get into the bigger tournaments.. all losses hav been quite close except the Querrey (ranked 77)

I think from this it is clear to see that Boggo looses ocasionally to lower ranked opponents and beats way more than who he losses to.

The fact that this loss was on clay and was in 3 sets againt a player who prefers clay compared to Alex can only be positive for Alex... he needs more match practice on clay and to build up his muscle which is definately needed for clay.

Over the last year or so Boggo has played some really good tennis... yes more consistency is needed and better clay court play is required but asides from that hes doin very well... ranked in top120 is by no means easy!

ps. sorry for any mistakes!
