Hi everyone. I know that I am new here, but I have a proposal for everyone here: could ourselves, as British tennis fans, be a bit more proactive and have some fun as well? Would others be interested in banding together and producing a radio broadcast of, say, the semifinals/finals of the summer challengers (Surbiton, Felixstowe, Manchester, Nottingham) over the internet? All it takes is a laptop and a couple of microphones. If we can get a team of 4-5 people interested in learning some broadcasting skills and chatting about tennis, this really could be viable. This will be strictly on a volunteer basis. If enough people express an interest in this topic this weekend, I will call a meeting in London next weekend to meet in person and develop this project further. Thanks all, Steve. For an American example of this, see radiotennis.net.
Of all tyrannies a tyranny exercised for the good of its victim may be the most oppressive.... those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience
Yeah I think it's definately something to try and do for the future and would be great fun, great idea !
I would have put my name forward but I wouldn't be able to make Felixstowe or Surbiton this year or be able to attend meetings about the project due to my A level exams. I think the same is true for some others like mkkreuk who's also in year 13. I'll definately be up for it in 2008 or maybe later this year for some of the indoor challengers ??
