Week 19 - Futures F3(M) - Cali, Columbia

Remind me how this works lol. Will there now be a thread in the men's section to discuss the matches?

This system could become very confusing, personally I think that we should keep the "entry lists and rankings thread" just for ATPs and challenger entry lists....have futures entry list threads in the discussion sections as we're not going to be starting them till a few days before the tourney starts.

Thread moved...

On paper it looks like Robert Dee has an amazing chance to end his losing streak...however I can't see Franco derailing Dee's world record plans...the Columbian is an 18 year old clay-court specialist, also with just 1 ranking pt. However, he got that pt by defeating a geezer ranked 460ish 6-4, 6-1 ! He also qualified for a 10K earlier this year.

Great chance for Myles to get a pt, ok his opponent will have won through qualies but the field here is incredibly weak. Leong is unranked and comes from that renowed hotbed of tennis talent...the Solomon Islands (anyone know whereabouts they are ?)

Rob Dee gets a wildcard! I wondered when he would next try to defend his point!

Like to see Myles do the business this week.

Disagree entirely but hey your the admin.

To have an entry list section is great...but it should be for them all. Futures entry lists are known several weeks in advance just like ATPs and Challengers.

If it is deemed too confusing to have an 'event entry list' thread and a 'discussion' thread then just have the 'discussions' in the entry list thread ? But I thought that was'nt the point of having a new section for entry lists.

Mr Dee returns. His point disappears soon, so good luck to him.

A terrible catch 22. To really continue playing, and beat the record, he has to win to get ranking point, else he may not even get qualie entries. But if he gets a ranking point, the record cannot be his.

R1: (WC) Robert Dee UNR v (WC) Francisco Franco (COL) WR 1498
R1: Myles Blake WR 792 beat (Q) Michael Leong (SOL - the Solomon Islands) UNR by 4 & 2 smile

R2: Myles Blake WR 792 v TBA

So, Robert Dee has finally lost his ranking. No problem, those Futures main draw WCs don't cost very much! (er, allegedly ... I wouldn't begin to claim that's what actually happened) Why would you want a WC here? "Located in the Cauca River Valley, Cali is also known throughout Colombia and the rest of South America for its Salsa music and for having the most beautiful women." So there you go ...

On Tuesday, Robert is 4th on Court 1 not before 20.00 BST.

A third way would be to have entry list summaries in the "entry list" section: i.e. "Brits in Futures in Week 19" and the "week 19 Entries" thread, and either start a new section for "Tournaments" or put them back into the "British Men" section.  At the momen, the Entry List and Rankings  section is getting very crowded: loads of stickies, and current threads getting pushed a long way down.....

I agree with the fact that we have too many topics sticked to the top.
