Julia Bone should be massive favourite for this especially on clay....Broady won't be such a threat here as the clay will neutralise her serve and she has a lot of work to do on her movement

I reckon Jess Jackson and Lereesa Easterbrook could cause a few upsets here

Rd2:

J Bone v A Jarratt

J Jackson v R Hatch

D Armstrong v J Rabot

O Smith v P Sanduska

N Broady v H Toro

K Smith v M Berry

H Richards v C Martin

L Warburton v L Easterbrook

I think Bone v Jackson in the quarters, Armstrong v Sanduska, Broady v Berry and Warburton v Richards.

Warburton-Easterbrook is the most interesting rd2 match, I think that Lucy will progress as although Lereesa is an excellent counter-puncher and will make less errors, Lucy has more power and a better serve atm.

Jackson gave Julia Bone a good match in QF's. 4-6 6-3 7-5 it was.

Bone retired after losing first set 6-1 to Armstrong in SF.

the drawsheet is a little odd in the bottom half as it has Broady beating Berry but then Berry beating Holly Richards.

I'll assume the later result is correct so Berry must have beaten Broady as well.

So the final is as above

i think we will see some very strange results during the clay season as most british girls arent great on the surface

as tennisbrain says, some strange results here !

I was very surprised Berry won as from what I've seen of her, she seems to rely a lot on her serve and finishing points off at the net, has quite a good forehand but not particularly many weapons from the baseline. she can also be quite erratic off her backhand.

I did think she'd beat Broady who's very reliant on her serve and doesn't move well enough at the moment to get results on clay.

I thought Bone or Armstrong would have taken it...hope Bone is ok after having to retire in the semis...maybe just fatigued after that marathon against Jess Jackson

for me another surprising result was Holly Richards beating Warburton 3 and 3...from what I saw at Sutton, Richards doesn't move particularly well which must be a hindrance on clay...however, Lucy can self-destruct from the baseline so maybe that happened.
