according to the beeb article on the increased prize money (can't be bothered to find the link sorry) they'll be using cyclops on centre and court 1 and hawkeye on the outside courts...can someone explain the difference to me?!

i thought cyclops only used on serves? some kinda laser beam across the serve line.

Ah, reading it again I have got it the wrong way round though I swear when i read it earlier...confused.gif Oh well, thanks for letting me know the difference.

So the challenge system will only be in place on Centre and Court 1 as it is at most of the tournaments using it now.

Hawkeye is just about the only recent "improvement" that I am in favour of, but I am not very keen on this artificial challenge system.  I don't see why it could not be available to the umpire who could then check calls that were uncertain without all the current theatrical drama. . .but then, I suppose theatrical drama is what E de V wants to bring to tennis.
