Corrie may get a direct entry. Childs can get one if Cox sneaks in!

Thanks Drew.

Arka, all of your wildcards are going to juniors and I'd be highly surprised if the lta did likewise.

Having said that, If I had the wildcards to give I think mine would be the same biggrin.gif

It'll be great if Drew can go....would be cool to hear what he makes of Ward, Cox, Evans, Childs etc...this must be James Ward's first tournament in Britain for ages, I read that the LTA were wanting to speak to him so maybe that's why he's come over. Field isn't that strong for a 15K, he certaintly has the ability to beat most of those guys

Any other Scots in the Edinburgh area ?? Niall said he'd be interested when I mentioned it to him last year, he lives in Edinburgh...

I'd give wcs to Dyce, Evans, Childs and Kasiri

I'll probably go down for a couple of days.

I managed to go a couple of years ago (it was still a satellite then), and players such as Alan Mackin, Colin Fleming, Jamie Murray and Morgan Phillips were plying their trade on the dirt.

Hmm, yeah. Smith and Ward are now 1st and 4th ALTs respectively, with Searle and the rest also down 5 places confused.giffurious.gif

I guess we'll just have to hope for at least 4 withdrawals.

If Ward has been asked to come by the lta do you think he'll be given a wildcard if he needs one?

You would hope that Ward would get a wildcard, but there is a good chance that Scottish players such as Brewer and Dyce (and Fleming is he wants one) would get them first.

Kasiri will be in Greece. Why will you give Childs a wild card on clay ahead of Rice? hmm.gif

That'll be great Guy smile.gif  Make sure you take plenty of pics and do us a big report biggrin.gif

which matches did you see a couple of years ago ?  I think that was when Colin Fleming made his first big singles breakthrough, he got to the final there, causing a number of upsets before losing to Cipolla who beat everyone in that sat. I remember that Mackin was mainly playing futures and satellites around that time and wasn't doing particularly well in them, also despite being ranked 300-350 he went for very few challengers...it wasn't until last June that he's started to show that he's got the game to move to the next level...unfortunately things seem to have tailed off for him since the Aussie Open.
