lucy lost to avramovic, 1 and 3 but avramovic was 20 in the world in juniors so sure shes good player cats score isnt up yet. there is no tara?? now to look forward to a hopefully better week in the main draw for anna f
Lu is ranked around 350 places lower at 935 but it will still be a very tough match for Anna as Lu has come through 4 gruelling rounds on qualifying so she's certaintly match-tough on the clay. However, Lu hasn't been past rd1 of a 10K since February 2006.
Of all tyrannies a tyranny exercised for the good of its victim may be the most oppressive.... those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience
Anastasia POLTORATSKAYA. Russian, 18. Ranked 453, a career high (as expected for an 18 year old). 23-10 this year, virtually all from 10K tournaments where she regularly progresses-three finals this year, including Hull 10K where she came through as a qualifier (and beat Jade Windley in the semi, 3 & 2. Not yet made much progress at 25K level, though only a few tries.
On her current form, she will be very hard to beat. Well underranked.
she'll be v tough for Anna to beat, can't see her coming through this one especially as Anastasia has made two 10K semis on Croatian clay over the past few weeks and two of those 10K finals came on Spanish clay !
Anastasia also beat an on-form Natasha Khan 6-0, 4-6, 6-3 at the Sutton 25K in Jan
At least Anna got a good win under her belt in rd1....after this tourney she heads to Turkey for a 25K next week
