Update From Morgan.

Seems like the injury was worse than even the pessimists amongst us thought. By the time he starts playing again he's almost going to be starting from scratch after all the recent progress. Hopefully he's straight back to his best and he can be top 400 by the end of the year.

It's awdul news, but at least Morgan will get a protected ranking when he comes back, so even if he has lost virtually all his ranking point, he'll still be able to get into a few Futures without having to qualify.

Yeah it is a real, real shame and must be so frustrating for Morgan...he's rehabing at Roehampton at the moment but is rapidly running out of "24" DVDs biggrin.gif

Cartilage injuries always take ages to heal, sounds a bit like Michael Owen's injury which he sustained in the world cup

Glad he gets the PR. Hopefully the LTA will give him some Wc's to help him get back into it again as well.

Get better soon Morgan!

I'm not wanting to be negative but once you've got a knee, you've always got a knee.

Just hope he stays lucky, but it's the worst area an athlete can have a weakness! cry

Good luck Morgan, hope you're back to normal soon.

Knee seems to be much better now. In around two weeks, he'll have his next scan. Hopefully he'll get the 'all-clear' then. pray.gif

Morgan is fit again. clap.gifclap.gif He'll be back to full training around October.

The plan is to train hard in the next few months and a relaunch of the career early next year.

That's excellent news. Poor guy being out for so long, but at least he'll have a PR for a while which should get him straight into a few Futures main draws next year.

post on MTF:

bad news...
a Valencian trainer I knew in Genoa told to me about Morgan's injury (how it happened) and the journey from Siracusa (where he broke his knee) to Valencia... he did it with him because he was coming back home and Paco Fogues asked him to bring Morgan with him... Morgan felt bad, of course, and he was on the wheelchair...
anyway, in March he didn't want to be operated because they wasn't sure of what he had...after that he was operated in May, as I said you before...he came back to England but he still comes to Valencia sometimes, he's slowly improving but he and Paco don't know what they'll do... there is the possibility that he never will be able to play ATP tournaments again...

posted in September... Anyone on our board have contact with Morgan?

thats complete rubbish...Morgan says that training is going well, starting to be able to run freely on the knee and he should be back to 100% by November...ready to hit the circuit again in Dec/Jan.
