Wow, well done the Brits smile.gif

I guess Poland are the main challengers here, even if they aren't the highest-ranked country.

Ireland aren't playng until next week.

And no you don't have to keep the same singles players, you can mix and match your singles and doubles players.

Watching the match on TV Bulgaria I was worried at how uptight Anne appeared closing out the second set, and thought she would struggle to win the third. But wonderfully, she played some of her best tennis towards the end of the third. Only the third British win over a top 100 player in the last 10 years of Fed Cup I think (the others were Louise Latimer v Tatiana Poutchek in 2001 and Sam Smith v Anne Kremer in 1999)

In answer to the criticisms of selected players, there is a lot of pressure playing Fed Cup, especially against a host nation on clay, so going with experience always seemed logical to me - and was clearly proved when the matches became tight.

She really doesn't photograph but she's much prettier in real life. It's not really her looks that got me...she's just really...sparky. She complains and punches the air and argues and cries. Great to watch.

Good win. clap.gif

They must play Naomi against Poland. She has a better chance against the Sisters than both Bally and Keothavong.

Sears said: "Anne played really aggressively and struck the ball well and it was a great win for her.

"If Anne keeps playing like she played today she will be playing in the top 100 soon.

"I am delighted with the start we have made and it gives us confidence for the next two games."

Next up is Luxembourg tomorrow and Naomi will replace Bally to get her Fed Cup debut
