I wouldn't worry about that TOO much. It was pretty much expected that after going deep into the US Open, Kolya wouldn't be too fussed about a minor tournament immediately after, especially with his own Davis Cup matches to think about for next week.
Let's put it this way: I didn't put him in my Fantasy Tennis team this week!

His beating Tim at Queens worries me far more!

What you say maybe true but I'm sure Davydenko would still have preferred to have won the match. What a boost to Cilic's confidence it must have been to beat a top ten player and as you say he beat Tim at Queen's.I still think it will be a tight call and everyone is going to have to be on top form.
I have no doubt that we will win comfortably...when the team hear "Boggo's coming home" belted out around the stadium before the 1st rubber, the Croats simply wont be able to withstand the adrenaline rush it will give our players
The Cilic win over Davydenko will give him confidence, but to be honest, everyone knew it was coming, as Davydenko's sole reason for turning up was for the appearance money, as he didn't really care about the tournament.
So, Ljubo has a nice, nearly 3 hour match for his win today. Oh, I do hope he makes it all the way to the final! With long, gruelling matches in both the semi and the final, of course!
Cilic has just had a straight sets loss to Kiefer - hopefully that will dent his new-found confidence a little.
unfortuntaely it was Gonzalez who took advantage of Ljubicic's tiredness - a three set win in the Beijing finals. So the "let's tire Ljuby out" strategy ends here. Hopefully the "let's dent Ljuby's morale" strategy works better.
Anyone interested in meeting up near the AELTC on the Friday evening? Either with the AM.com lot or as far away as possible from them, I don't really mind!
If there's another thread about this that I've missed (I've hardly been able to get on here at all recently :(), please feel free to direct me to it!

GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
can someone record theres for me...i need to see this davis cup tie. Send me a PM. i will pay for shipping and everything. Please!
Unfortunately, this is not as easy as you might think. Recording BBC 1 & 2 is easy enough, but the extended coverage on BBCi is much harder. It is transmitted on Freeview channels 301, 302 or 303, although it seems to be 301 & 302 that get used for sports etc. coverage. Problem is that the BBC do not, and will not publish which one it will be on. So you either have to guess the channel or else be at the TV to press record once you know the channel, or have accessed it through BBCi.
I have previously e-mailed the BBC to ask why they won't publish which channel it will be on, but they were adamant they would not. I forget the excuse they gave, but I think the real reason is that if they do then they would have to stick with it, and they would lose flexibility to swap things about.
I'm going to be at Wimbledon (sorry!), so will not be able to help you much.
The above problem is why I haven't offered! However, I am hoping to record it for myself, and IF it is successful I will let you know, Andymonium. It is a bit of a bind as I have to record it on VHS first because of the length, and then transfer to DVD, which in itself takes ages.
