i have a spare ticket for the saturday now, coz i have been offered a ticket to sit with someone now , so im not on my own !
so if anyone would like a ticket for the saturday you can buy it of me !?
i cant wait for it now, alot of us form AM.com are all going a pub in wimbledon for a drink or 2 after the tennis on the saturday , if some of you guys would like to join us ?!
I'll speak to John about it shell but as we were planning to go for a drink on Sat night as it is, going to the pub and meeting the am.com guys sounds like a really good idea.
which pub is it ? maybe some of the people going from here might be interested too and we could have a big meet-up of both boards.
Shock - Wesley Moodie is 'included in the squad' :-
Baker, whose world ranking of No 231 is five spots lower than his career-high, reached the third round of qualifying here, losing to Pablo Cuevas, the Uruguayan drawn to face Murray in the first round proper. The 21-year-old from Glasgow was the teams orange boy in the tie against Ukraine 11 months ago and played the dead rubber. The chances are that he will not have to play this time, but, with Henmans career ending, Greg Rusedski already gone and the cupboard not brimming with goods, he is the best hope for a singles berth alongside Andy Murray in future years.
Lloyd has decided not to bring any of the younger breed of British players into the squad largely because none of them has played well enough recently to merit such a reward. We need Jamies improvement and its what I expect from him to be quick, Lloyd said. And we have to hope others will keep pushing because the opportunity is there.
Alex Bogdanovic and Richard Bloomfield are in the squad as hitting partners and Lloyd has drafted in Wesley Moodie, the huge-serving South African, to replicate the styles expected from Croatia.
Of all tyrannies a tyranny exercised for the good of its victim may be the most oppressive.... those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience
i have a ticket which i am selling for the Saturday , coz i am now sitting with a friend as she had a spare ticket, so if anyone one is intrested just let me know !
Am I the only one who wasn't worried about Karlovic in the first place?
Yes, he has the massive serve, but he has never done anything when there is real pressure on him. For instance, he's 0-7/8 in 5 sets matches, and other than his Wimbledon run a couple of years ago when he beat Hewitt, I don't remember him ever doing anything better than 2nd round in a grand slam
Karlovic is a decent player, but no-one would have expected him to beat Murray, and Cilic is possibly still the favourite against Tim, so nothing changes in the overall look of the tie
I've said all along that we are the favourites to win this, simply as Andy should win both his matches, and then we have the better doubles team so should win that.
oh and i can see sense in getting Wes in. with no Greg we dont have a big server. andy, tim & boggo dont have big serves so i guess rich has the biggest brit serve around now! and it would be foolish not to go in prepared for that.

As well as that, maybe there is the possibility of Jamie playing a couple of doubles tournaments with Moodie as well? I'm guessing they may play a couple of practise sets to see what it is like, as that could be an interesting partnership if nothing else works out (although Moodie has teamed with Santoro quite a bit this year)
Who do you think will play for Croatia in doubles???
Zovko I assume otherwise there's no point him being in the team. Maybe with Ljubo if we are up or it's level after friday but if they are 2-0 up I reckon they'll rest him for sunday.
Even without Karlo I don't think this will be an easy one to win. Lubs is ranked 12, Cilic 117, Karanusic is 159 and Zovko 84 in doubles. With Minto lacking match practice and Tim coming to the end of his career it could be a close call. Lubs doesn't like grass, okay, but if he gets his serve going it may not matter. I can see a lot depending on the doubles and our two singles players getting the better of Cilic. We need to give Tim a good send-off.
