Alan must have worked out that he would get seeded in qualifying here, which is probably better than getting slightly higher seeded at the Chiasso Challenger, which is where he was originally going to play.

A very surprising qualifying WC for Antoni Gomez, who has lost his last 13 matches (all in Futures qualifying) in straight sets and has only ever won three Futures qualifying matches all against unranked players.

Still, it could be good news for Alan, because the winners of these two matches are due to meet in QR2, so if he beats Munoz, he's probably going to have to play someone who is ranked down in the 700s!

On Saturday, Alan and Antoni are 3rd on Pista 1 and Pista 2 respectively at about 14.00 BST.

I feel Alan really needs to start winning matches at this level again...well all know he has never won an ATP main draw match....would be nice if he could make the MD but this will be a hard match !

The match in front of Alan's has just finished so he should be on soon.
