Valencia Challenger - 2007.

Bloomers cry

If only he'd forced a tiebreak he might have dented Kim's confidence.

Come on Boggo! Take it home!

He has been winning the odd Challenger match for some time now. He'll be ranked around 435 next week, which is just around 20 places short of where Andy was at his age.

He is too underdeveloped to crack the top 100 this year but I'm sure that he'll be there next year.

Exactly the same score as in R1 then. Hope they weren't reading you out an old result by mistake!

Hmmm, you never know. I asked for a score, he said who's score. I told him Bogdanovic and he told me he won 6-4 6-2. You reckon he'd be stupid enough to think I was asking for a score from 2 days ago freely available on the internet?

Just on the phone to him now. 6-4 6-2 was not today's result. He said they don't know scores for today.

He then put me on hold, came back and said Bogdanovic won today's first match on court but he doesn't know the score

So forget 4 & 2 but Boggo DID win

In a word ... yes! Though I also think Boggo beating Rehnquist 4 & 2 is a more than plausible score, so I'm not suggesting it's definitely wrong, I just don't feel completely sure.

Edit: thanks for calling again. So he really was that stupid. biggrin I'll refrain from saying "well, he is American ... and from the state that voted Arnie in as governor" wink

Anyway, I believe his second attempt, i.e. that Alex did win today! smile

Wouldn't it be funny if the score really was 6-4 6-2 lol.

Also why do americans have to call him ragdanovic, bagdonovic, alexdonovac, then finally after i corrected him to make sure he had right player he said yes i no. alan bogdanovic. meh close enough

lol, i havent too much experience with americans, but when i was in florida a few decembers ago i was aksed if we celebrate christmas in england  it was by a shop counter girl, had to try so hard to not to burst out laughing in her face.

in 1 resturant they were also stunned when a few of asked for bottled mineral water. the waiter came back and said they only had 1 half a litre bottle and would we like to share.

LOL our old mate Ken 'la voz del tenis' Thomas from Radio Tennis calls him Bog-day-no-vitch (the underlining denotes the strress, correct in this case even if the pronunciation isn't), but this reminds me of the time I was listening to Radio Tennis hoping to hear the Boggo score and had to listen to Ken commentating on Ilja Bozoljac.

He insisted on calling him Beaujolack (think Beaujolais Nouveau and change the ending) and after Ilja won, Ken interviewed him. Admitting (or so I thought) that he had room to improve, he asked Ilja how to pronounce his name "because I'm not sure if I'm getting it right."

"It's Bo-zol-yach," says Ilja, slowly.

"Oh," says Ken, "I see - Beaujolatch."

Imagine the look on poor Ilja's face! biggrin
