bravo Arka. I'm still working on becoming a tennis legend (at 4200) it keeps being hindered by my going away for a few days!

Hopefully Baker can have another stunning challenger run on his return to that level. I guess he and Bloomers will take the same plane on Sunday afternoon after they've both played a dead rubber each perhaps?!

boggo is 3rd seed, faces Smeets

Baker faces Lindhal

Bloomers (who didnt get a seeding) faces Oudsema

baker couldface no1 seed Lu in 2nd rd, bloomers could be up against no 2 kim.

boggo either tourte or a Q. poss rematch v reynolds in qf.

Grr... Baker and Lindahl face off.

Boggo should be able to reach the quarters comfortably.

al is defending a qf here, althugh due to the revised points system a similar result would leave him 1 point better off.

I'll just add in the relative rankings and a bit more preview ... apologies for any repetition!

R1: Jamie Baker WR 242 v Nick Lindahl (AUS) WR 272
R1: (3) Alex Bogdanovic WR 147 v Robert Smeets (AUS) WR 280
R1: Richard Bloomfield WR 183 v Scott Oudsema (USA) WR 284

Lindahl has reached two finals and two semi-finals in his last four tournaments, all Futures in NZL and AUS. The winner of Jamie's match with him will probably have to play no. 1 seed Yen-Hsun Lu (TPE) WR 96 in R2.

Boggo has never played Smeets, but Bloomers beat him in the Bath 1 semis a couple of weeks ago. The other seed in the 2nd quarter is (7) Wayne Odesnik (USA) WR 191. With a draw like this, Boggo (who has three sets of Challenger QF points to defend in a row this month) has to be looking to get to at least the semis.

Oudsema has only won one of his last 8 matches, and that was a 3 set win against a Korean ranked outside the top 500, Jamie Baker beat him in straight sets in Waikoloa. The winner of Richard's match with him is likely to face no. 2 seed Kevin Kim (USA) WR 126 in R2 though.

richard's got a chance here - oudsema and kim on poor runs - just dunno how well his game will be suited to non-indoor courts!

to be honest, its a fairly open draw, no outstanding players in it! very hard to pick a winner. i expect boggo will win a couple of matches then succumb to a disappointing defeat...

just noticed serial boggo-beater okun is in the draw... wouldn't mind alex playing him though, as would mean him reaching the final!
