I appreciate the decision that she's doing Surbiton instead of Roland Garros Juniors. Junior results past a girl's 17th birthday count for little and those past her 18th birthday count for almost nothing.
The only Junior tournament that I now want her to play is the Orange Bowl and maybe Eddie Herr as a warm up. Winning it will be tough but I'm sure that she'll be one of the favourites.
If possible she's going to play junior Wimbledon as one of her big aims for this season is to win a junior slam.
I doubt she'll play Orange Bowl, she said she's only going to play the slams now in the juniors so I guess that the US Open will be her last junior tourney. Winning Orange Bowl would give her a wc into Miami 2008 but I think that Naomi is hoping to be able to be a direct entry into Miami by then
amazing stuff, she's just come off court...I'll have some match info later
Not another 4 & 2! I hope you didn't call that guy at Valencia by mistake ...
"Can I have a score" "What score" "The Brit, Cavaday" (looks up Bogcavadayovic's score) "won 4 & 2"
(see the Valencia Challenger thread if you don't know what I'm getting at!)
Seriously though, fabulous result and I find myself not in the slightest bit surprised (which is even better - exactly how I started feeling about Andy's wins at a similar stage in his career)

GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
I find myself expecting her to beat these opponents too which just shows how incredible her rise has been...even with Bally or Anne at their best, I'd usually only think it was 50-50 when they were up against top 150 opposition but Naomi seems to just be regularly outplaying opponents of this quality.
Naomi was telling me how the taxes on prize money in the USA is crazy, you need to win the tournament or at least make the final, to come away with some sort of profit ! In Florida it's a whopping 47% which is a bit much tbh ! She got more dosh from her 10K win in India back in 2005 than she did for winning Orange last month.
Naomi didn't know exactly how much tax it was till after the tourney so she was quite taken aback when during the post-final presentation ceremony they presented her with a big 3K cheque then quickly replaced it with a 1.7K one !!!!
What a rise its been, 12 months ago she was ranked around 600and was progressing quite quickly, ow insdie the top 300 she seems to be doing the same.
I remember finding out she beat Poutcheck in Birmingham and just couldn't believe it. The following her match vz Czink who was ranked around 80 at the time and was dissapointed she lost, cos she cam so close.
WOuld be great to see her get these big wins in FEC cup and help us get into a world group 2 play-off.
