We haven't done this for a couple of months, time for one for March and there's plenty of possible winners...this will be really tough !
a) Georgie Stoop - Georgie reached her 2nd 25K final, coming through a very strong field. She obliterated the 6th seed (ranked 229) 2 and 2 along the way and in defeating top seed Elise Tamaela 7-6, 7-6 in the semis, gained her first top 150 scalp. This meant she reached a new career high ranking on the verge of the top 250.
b) Naomi Cavaday - Naomi won her first 25K title in Orange, handing out breadsticks to a series of world class opponents, several who were former top 100 players. This meant she moved to a new career high in the 280s.
c) Jane O'Donoghe - Jane is on the road back to the top 300, she won a 10K in Jersey defeating Gaelle Widmer in the final (no mean feat as Gaelle's beaten Naomi and Georgie earlier this year) and then made the semis a week later in Sunderland
(d) Anna Smith: Anna reached her first 10K final overseas in New Zealand at the beginning of March and in doing so, reached a new career high inside the top 500. She also won a match in the Perth 25K, defeating a top 350 player.
(e) Anna Fitzpatrick: Anna reached the Sunderland 10K final, impressively defeating Aurelie Vedy who's top 300, 6-0, 6-1 in the semis....her best ever win.
(f) Julia Bone: Julia stormed to the Bath 10K final last week, her best ever series of results at 10K level, knocking out 3 seeds along the way including Jane O'Donoghue in 3 sets.
