Never heard of Hannah Kames.

Don't know anything about Howlett.

Hillyer and Elliot seem fair enough!

Funnily enough though, I would reverse the main draw and qualifying wild cards. Bann, Carreras, Cornish and Windley seem much better prospects to me!

Hannah James is ranked no 5 in the GB U16s and no 9 in the U18s Johnny. She played for England in the Aberdeen Cup last year. She's only played 3 womens tournaments in the past, so good to see her playing more

C arrerras through as well and her next opponent dropped a set!

Come on girls, hoping to see a lot of them qualify.

Broady doesn't seem to have carried on with the form she had at the end of 2006. Has she been injured?

I don't think that she has been injured. Nothing major, at least...

Yes, she isn't doing as well as last year.

Unofficial QR results (OK, off GB tennis girls!)

Jade Windley GBR d. (12) Lucy Fletcher 6-4, 6-1
Jade Curtis GBR d. (2) Elizabeth Thomas GBR 6-4, 6-4
(3) Marcella Koek NED d. (11) Anna Hawkins GBR 6-3, 6-2
(4) Melissa Berry GBR d. (15) Eva De Block BEL 6-1, 6-2
(13) Aleksandra Razumova RUS d. Amanda Carreras 6-7(2), 6-3, 6-2
(9) Rachael Dillon IRL d. (6) Karolina Nowak GER 6-1, 6-4
(7) Claire Ricketts GBR d. Suzana Dos Anjos BRA 6-0, 7-5
(8) Constance Sibille FRA d. WC (10) Naomi Broady 6-4, 3-6, 7-5

A good set. Jade and Jade march on, impressively. Melissa B and Claire R do professional jobs. A good fight from Amanda C , and Naomi B lost out in three tight sets.

Heres hoping for a kind main draw for the Jades.

I just got off the phone with Nigel Sears:

Jade Windley was very impressive, she's one of our brightest prospects, following on from her successes in Tipton etc..

Jade Curtis was again impressive, playing pretty well to beat Liz Thomas 4 and 4. It's nice to see 2 of the 1990 girls coming through.

Nigel says that Amanda Carrera really "PLAYS tennis" - a pleasure to watch, but she's very small.  It was a tight 3 setter that she lost against the Russian.

Naomi Broady lost another tight 3 setter against Sibille, coming back from 5-2 down in the third set, only to finally just lose it 7-5.

- Looks like I'm the Bath 10K correspondent this week.

And a good correspondent you are too!

4 qualifiers, two Jades, Melissa and Claire is not a bad result from the original draw.

When's main draw released?
