Gonzo beaten in straights! Could this be the week the seed suicide works in Andy's favour?

So this week the draw breaks nicely for Andy as well as Djokovic. Hewitt withdraws and Gonzo is downed. I think Andy would have taken Gonzo anyway - he's struggling to get anywhere close to his AO form - but I think Mathieu is an easier match. Paulo is the sort of player Murray will be able to tease and goad into overhitting. There'll be some flashy winners but I think Andy will contain his game and then tie the Frenchman up in knots.
The QFs beckon, hopefully - and there awaits either Roddick or Ferrer, both of whom he has beaten. Maybe we can make that date with the top 10 this week after all? Let's hope so!
I followed the final stages of the Gonzo / PHM match....I thought I would post it here to just to show that the Frenchman is a fighter....
TB...if PHM wins he will face Andy !!!
FG serving (first score also)
1-0 2-0 mb to FG 2-1 3-1 ace 4-1 not looking good for Frenchie !!Only the one MB 5-1 dbm...gonzo running away with this TB 5-2 can he fight back 6-2...4 sp 6-3 a mb back...still 3 sp 6-4 cmon PHM...2 sp 6-5 1 sp... 6-6 yes ya beauty !!! all square 6-7 YESSSS.... 1MP for PHM..... (that was a DF)
PHM is a fighter - no question. His problem has ALWAYS been that he's a much better fighter when coming from behind, as in this situation, rather than when he's leading. When he's the front-runner, far too often he finds ways to blow it with his own nervy play.
I really like PHM so I was equally pleased and gutted that he won today. I think he will be a hard match-up for Andy - on his day he has the game to trouble anyone but he is a choker and he is very erratic so I think Andy can take him if he plays well. It won't be easy though but I think Andy should be able to come through this.
That is a real possibility. Guys with those sort of mental issues on court do tend to get a bit erratic and break down a bit and Andy is great at frustrating the life out of even the most solid guys. I just hope he serves well again.
He will need to - Mathieu will definitely take cuts at the second serve if he gets enough chances.
I always enjoy watching Mathieu because he usually finds ways to entertain, if not with his shotmaking than his ability to blow a good position. I still have, and look back on, his defeat to Coria last year in Monte Carlo having led 6-1 5-1 and Coria serving 20 DFs. Somehow Coria contrived to win in the final set. Extraordinary match for the sheer unlikeliness of it all.
As for Andy, well he manages to make the most routine beatdowns entertaining to watch purely with his style of play so I think it'll be a great match to watch.
Yeah that's how I see it. A potential banana-skin but Murray really should have much too much - especially with the newfound consistency he has demonstrated this season.
