Second round:

Neil Pauffley [148] lost to Stefano Valenti [145] of Italy by 61 75
Marcus Willis [168] beat Marek Budos [301] of Slovakia by 60 57 62

Bad draw for Pauffley even though he was seeded. Valenti reached the quarters of a G1 last week after winning against a top 25 player in the first round.

Third round:

Marcus Willis [168] vs. Aljaz Bedene [53] of Slovenia

Tough match against the second seed for Marcus. Bedene is a clay courter and is in great form - he reached the quarters in the Grade 1 in Croatia last week and then took the eventual champion, Thomas Fabbiano, to three sets. Willis will need to do something special to even take a set.

He can play on clay, mind it. He won a G5 last year after dropping just a single set (that too in a tie breaker). But I am not sure if he is good enough to give top 50 players a match on clay like he can on indoors.

Thanks, that's helpful.

How many countable tournament scores do the juniors get?

6 for singles and 6 for doubles.

I think that it should be increased, otherwise it's very easy to play all the weak tourneys and get an inflated ranking.

And they lost in the doubles quarters.

The top and second seeds go out early. That's good for Dan's and Dyce's rankings.
