Nice choice of tournament from Ross Faster courts should suit him more, good chance for some more points. Just noticed that he's just made the top 1000 for the first time, congrats to him !

Very surprised to see James Ward in this field, must be his first indoor tourney for ages !!!

(1)Jacob Adaktusson (SWE) vs James Ward (GBR)

Adaktusson is now ranked 367 but was inside the top 250 this time last year (I remember that he beat Cox by 3 and 3 in the qualies of Nottingham). Since then he has also beaten Auckland and Matt Smith.

He won against Zverev and took Waske to two tie breaks on carpet last month, so Ward will have to play way above his ranking to cause him any sort of troble.

Horrible draw, no chance for James on fast indoor courts. To beat Zverev indoors you have to be playing pretty well, Adaktusson also made 5 challenger quarters in 2006 on a variety of surfaces

Grr.... Maybe he even had a match point or two?

Great effort. Didn't think that it would be this close.
