Yeah, if Tim had played properly and simply lost fair and square I'd feel proud. Instead, he has embarassed himself and Great Britain by serving like a fairy girl and choking away a set and a break lead without barely a wimper

I would never think it about Henman. You can see Bogdanovic cannot win crucial matches, coz has not such talent like Tim, but is fighting. Henman should apologise for his performance.

I think people are being very harsh here. It's a bad match-up for Tim even when he was a better player than he is now. An embarassment to Britain? He has to apologise? I don't think so.
He is what he is - an average player now who is playing on a slow court, whose serve isn't effective enough to allow him to make the most of his major weapon at getting into net and there was no way he was going to beat Canas from the back of the court. I know people are disappointed, and I know it was a poor performance but come on - a bit of perspective.

After Miami, Tim only has 5 points to defend before Roland Garros, where he defends another 35, so he has got some breathing space to try and get some wins under his belt.
Bad night for Tim. Hopefully he can start to make some headway before Roland Garros.
I still don't see him being able to get right back up there though with the best players i.e. the top 10. The top guys will have too much for him to handle now because sadly time is no longer on his side. He could still have some success at some lower level events on the main tour but I think at the slams and masters the best days are gone.
Still hope I'm wrong and he does an Ivanesevic at Wimbledon.
Maybe it's time to do a Bjorkman (and McEnroe!!), and become an old specialist doubles player: What d'you reckon: Auck's serve and Henmans volleying? Bootie and Stretch watch out!
I have always been his supporter. I just can't withstand his mental weakness. He needs so many time to hitting the ball well, probably 2000 years to win Wimbledon. Can you imagine how many Grand slams he would have won, if he was consistent. Yesterday against Canas, it was one of those matches. First set a 2-1 for Tim and suddenly 100% turn-round. I don't know, he is able to win a match from the brink, and lose to for example Greul at Miami. He is a "unique player" on tour. Still come on Tim but please play properly through out the entire match and neglect your nerves!

So that's the two masters series gone for Tim and in both of them he managed to throw winning positions away. Just another average month in the life of Tigger I suppose.

Just got home and read through this. I am a great Henman supporter but didn't expect him to come on back nearly as strongly as some of you did. He took four months off, many of those months/weeks he couldn't train. He has lost each of his matches in three sets. I couldn't help laughing when I read on the Beeb site that he has only won one match all season....what a laugh, he has just come back. He has little to defend before the French....what Tim needs is more time on the court and some good draws, this one sucked although I thought he would do better in Indian Wells.
I have little doubt that he could get back into the top 30 again....and have a shout at a run at the Slams....who knows.....I still dream, but the guy has done so much with so little for so many years who knows. Canas is a top 20 player on the way up again.
