Illingworth beat Slabba 6-3, 7-6

Spoke to Slabba afterwards, he said he should have won as he had so many chances. He had 10 bps in the first set and 2 set points in the second set...just lost all the big points. Credit to Illingworth as both played the big pts well but Slabba said he just ended up getting somehow outplayed on all of them.

He says that the last two weeks have been good, got a ranking pt (portugal) and some prize money, getting some confidence back.

However, Illingworth now gets a wc this week. Slabba's in qualies.

This Boris Opama represents Surrey according to BBC Sport results page.

I've never heard of French players basing themselves in Britain!

Opama is as French as frogs, escargots and camembert....not a drop of English blood in the man

Marc Baghdadi is another French player based in Britain.

Could be a mistake as I'm sure I heard he was British....he played in the National championships last year too

Baghdadi is British, he goes to oxford uni and lives in Middlesex. His parents are French though and he plays under the french flag.
