shame for alex, great fight from hik tho, after being out classed in the 1st set. i think lopex just had it on the big points. som, ethign al needs to learn. back to challenger level for al. hopefully all this experince of big players/matchs will start to pay off for him. gutted he couldnt find a way through. still ne gave lopez a good game and can take heart from it.

I look forward to reading some of the reviews of the match - does anyone know anyone who watched? Its hard to be critical when we have only had the score board to watch, but I'm sure Al will be disappointed not to have taken any of those BPs.
Very disappointing. Yes, it was a great fight and well done on pushing a top 100 player and all that but that was a very British defeat. A multitude of sins get covered by giving it a right good go. You can't pass up a 0-40 opportunity, or 10 BPs in the final set if you want to be a top 100 player. I don't know - I know it;s harsh but Alex lost a match that he shouldn't have lost. The guy has the talent to be a top 100 player - he needs to win matches like this if that's going to happen.
At least he;'s trying to qualify for these events though. That's something.

Great pity for Alex. However if he had all those chances he really should have taken one and won that match. Another tourny over and Alex seems to be stagnating in the rankings and he really needs to drop back to some main draw challengers and get the wins/points like last year to move back up. How much does he want top 100? He has to be even more determined, with points soon to defend it will not be easy.
