I think Miami is only 4 hours different at the moment, they started daylight saving early: so 10am would be 2pm this first week only, then there will be 5 hours difference the week after(if I have got it the right way round, lol.)
Nasty draw, but Lopez seems to be in deep trouble with his career. He plays well once and then rubbish for five tournaments. Hard to believe that he is defending a title right now!
Let's hope that Boggo will catch an out of touch Lopez.
Lopez is currently ranked 92 but has been as high as no 20 (Jan 2005), strangely for a Spaniard, he's had some of his best results on grass, reaching two Wimbledon quarter-finals. He has a heavily sliced leftie serve and his big weapon is the forehand. He tends to hit his backhand with heavy slice and is also very comfortable up at the net, sometimes mixing things up by serve-volleying. In Indian Wells last week, he defeated Aussie Chris Guccione before losing to Andy Roddick 7-5, 6-4 in rd2. He's had a mixed year so far by his standards, yet to go past rd2 in an ATP.
In 2006, Lopez's best week came on the clay of Gstaad where he reached the final just after Wimbledon. The only Brit he faced was Andy Murray who beat him 7-5, 6-2 on the way to the ATP Washington final.
Another important fact about Lopez is that he's 2nd behind Nadal in the list of players who the Panda Bear most dislikes
Btw...Naomi Cavaday told me last night that she watched the infamous "Boggo brain fart" against Dlouhy in the Indian Wells qualies round a couple of weeks ago. I'm going to ask her what actually went on in that bizarre match
