If only they could have worked on Canas as well

The updated table is posted here (on Britishtennis.net)

Had Tim won, a path would have been cleared ahead for him to advance: Becker joined Gicquel and Ginepri on the plane home, Just Mayer winning and advancing.

It was not to be, however, so we must look at the threats behind instead
Canas, of course, beat Tim, and he advances to 43 points behind him Grosjean, Korolev and Querrey also advance

Today, in Miami, number 2 threat, Clement finally plays Montanes in R1, number 3 threat, Monaco, plays Andy- threat, Ferrer in R2, threat 4, Volandri, plays Mahut in R1.

There's 3 good targets for your malice, oh ladies of the bt.net Coven!

The What- if post:
(after Grosjean, Korolev and Volandri went out)

Tim has 820 points, and is at WR 47. He can be overtaken by:
Clement and Canas if they reach the 4th round
Santoro if he reaches the QF
Mathieu, Del Potro, Serra, Querrey and Spadea if they reach the SF
Llodra, Lopez, Kendrick, Tipsarevic, Delic, Falla, Greul and Starace if they reach the final
Bolelli and Kim if they win the tournament

All told, there are 21 threats. Only five can actually overtake, so:

Best Case Tim finishes at 47, no change on the fortnight
Worst Case Tim finishes at 52, 5 down on the fortnight.

No Live Ranking for Tim in Week 14: None of his competitors are playing. Del Potro drops back 3 places to 61, defending 50 points from 2006.
