(Preview)

where di these come from?

Rather than mess about wouldnt it be better for activeboard to sort out actaully posting? like when you wish to edit a post it takes about half and hour to load up.

David, can you turn this thing off?

Why would anyone want to preview a thread? It takes roughly the same amount of time to open a thread and read it.

It does seem pretty pointless, I wish they would sort out the really annoying things instead.

For example: I have never seen anybody else mention this, I am wondering if it just happens on my computer - when I have made a post, I can't just refresh the page. Dammit I now can't remember just what does happen - I'll amend this after I have submitted it. . .

OK, it comes up with a "retry" or "cancel" button - and either seems to come back each time I try to refresh, so I have to come out of the thread and go back in again to see what anybody else has posted just before or after me.  Anybody else have this problem? It doesn't happen on other boards I am on.

Sometimes I get that, it claims it has to 'resend information' or something similar, but if I click the retry button it then refreshes the page just takes a couple of seconds longer, have you tried that?

Got to say I'm not enamoured of this preview thing, far too many links and words underlined making me go crazy, plus it's harder to know where to click to get into the thread and onto the right page (I keep getting the preview's by accident or the page before the one I wanted).

I don't particularly like the new changes either...they've deleted some of the lines from the main page which is good but have added more on each section...why ?

Think they might be trying to copy the Beeb boards with the "preview" thing, unfortunately I can't turn it off. I don't think it's much useful apart from maybe ensuring that Count doesn't mistake threads in the British women section for joke threads

If you want to complain...suggest improvements, list your problems etc, you can contact activeboard: info@Sparklit.com

They've always been very pleasant and helpful with me, I think we're one of their largest forums.

However, please don't go overboard with improvements you want, all in one go (I can just see Madeline and Arka drawing up this massive list of improvements :biggrin)

To add a ray of positiveness to this thread: I do like the
<<first < Previous 1 2 3 4 Next > Last>>
bits at the bottom of the page - much slicker than the drop- down list!

- when they get them to work for the "recent posts" page, I'll be even happier.

Yes, that one is useful, as is "quick reply"

Rob, the page bits work on "recent posts" for me?

Excellent they've fixed it: pressing "2" used to take you to the second pageof whichever sub- forum was top of the "recent posts" list before.
