Tallahassee Challenger 2007.

Good win for Alex, he's lost in rd1 here for the last couple of years so he's broken his Tallahassee duck now.

Reynolds will be tough, Fruttero is a big server (serve-volleyer too) and to beat him 1 and 2 is impressive, shows that he must be returning extremely well.

Reynolds was regarded as a big prospect for American tennis in 2005 when he broke the top 100 but he never got higher than 92 and has since slipped back down the top 200s though he's still well established in the doubles top 100. He started 2007 impressively down under, qualifying for the Aussie Open and coming close to a first round victory, ultimately losing in 5 sets to Andreas Seppi. It's a match which on paper, Alex should win but it's definately a potential banana skin as Alex has a poor record in Tallahassee while Reynolds is at his best on the US hard courts, winning a challenger last autumn and making the semis in Tallahassee last year.

Strange that Alex is playing doubles here, maybe the off-court life in Tallahassee is a bit boring and he wanted something to fill his spare time. Either that or maybe something got lost in the Italian accent...., you know "Do you want to play doubles ?" might easily sound like "do you want to play couples ?" and so instead of a night on the town with the girls, Alex found himself in the doubles draw.

actaully sheddy if an italian guy suggested to me 'do you want to play couples' i would assume he is after something more intimate, and probably not want to be his doubles partner!

Easy Count Zero, "us" Italians don't always just think about sex...lol  I talked to Reynolds last night and he looks forward to taking on Alex.  Bobby said his match yesterday reminded him of his match when he dismantled GG Lopez here in Dallas 0,1.  Bobby said he served extremely well and it will take another top notch match like yesterdays to advance.  Being a friend and fan of Reynolds, he hasn't put together nice back to back wins since qualies in Australia.  Should be an exciting match.

Reynolds always seems to perform well in Australia! Went a few rounds in the main draw a couple of years back didn't he?

Hopefully Boggo is in the mood and will go deep. He needs at least semis or final to make any ranking places up at all.

Nice to see him win dubs too. 2 wins this week already should be good for his confidence.

Great first win A-Bog!

Where is Tallahassee in USA? EastCoast, West Coast, slap in the middle? Sorry if this has already been discussed. Just trying to work out when Boggo will be on!

We're now on summer time here as well, so it's back to 5 hours behind. 10am = 3pm UK time
