Windley's new Junior ranking after the good show in Spain is 220. That'll be more than good enough to get a wild card, I'm sure.
The wild cards will be very difficult to give this year as there are fourteen or fifteen girls who deserve them and just eight available spots.
Jade Curtis, Tara, Windley, Rae, Elliott and Cornish deserve it because of their rankings.
Laura Slater and Hannah James are young and will make good use of such an opportunity.
Fitzpatrick, Clarke and Broady have got games suited for the bigger stage and are capable of winning a round or two, even though they aren't especially interested in Juniors.
Brook, Cunningham and Ince were injured and would have been inside the top 100 if it hadn't been so.
Hopefully they won't give wild cards to foreigners like last time. But will someone as high profile as Larcher De Brito be denied one?
Nana, she'll be a direct entrant for qualies. She can get a main draw direct entry, too, depending on her results during these few weeks.
She may be turned down. Last year they refused Elias a wild card.
I'll give main draw wild cards to:
1) Tara Moore. 2) Jade Windley. 3) Jocelyn Rae. 4) Amanda Elliott. 5) Amanda Cunningham. 6) Stephanie Cornish. 7) Yasmin Clarke. 8) I am tempted to try out Heather Watson, but I don't think that she's ready for it. I'll go for Victoria Brook.
I am against Jade playing any more Juniors. Someone as talented as her shouldn't be playing past her 17th birthday.
Fitzy will probably get one, but it won't be of any use. She doesn't have much of a chance of doing something worth noticing for an 18 year old (say a semifinal). Better give it to someone young.
Broady certainly has the game on grass to trouble a few players, but she isn't interested in Juniors. She can have one next year, maybe...
There are six qualies wild cards:
1) Heather Watson. 2) Jennifer Ren. 3) Laura Robson. 4) Naomi Broady. 5) Anna Fitzpatrick. 6) Laura Slater.
I would replace Cornish with Laura Slater whose better atm....much bigger game and better chances of causing some upsets, Cornish is mainly a counter-puncher, Nigel Sears feels that she needs to be more aggressive.
We have to give out main draw wcs to players with chances of winning a few matches, I'd pick Naomi B and Anna instead of Amanda Cunningham and Victoria Brook. Julia Bone got pretty far last year, Anna has similar technique but is more aggressively minded and has a bigger serve...she could definately make the quarters with a good draw. With that huge serve on grass, Naomi could also cause a few upsets.
I agree that Jade shouldn't play any more juniors and should be playing a 10K that week but I'm very doubtful that'll happen...think she'll get one instead of Jocelyn or Amanda.
Id give Michaela Ince a qualies wc instead of Laura Robson who isn't ready yet. I'd also give a qualies wc to Amanda Carreras instead of Ren or Watson
Giving a wild card to Carreras will be of no use as she'll never play Juniors again. Don't say that you'll not give a wild card to Watson. She's a far better prospect than most of the girls above.
And what good will Fitzpatrick or Broady winning a few rounds be? They don't have much of a chance of doing anything major (say last four). Better give it to someone young who can put it to good use.
Robson will probably lose badly, but the experience will be good for her. In any case, it's extremely unlikely that she'll ask for one.

I know Carreras wouldn't play juniors again...but the whole experience of competing at Wimbledon alongside the top players would be great reward for her after her excellent results in futures so far this year. Playing often has the effect of inspiring players..similar to the DC, look at Julia Bone last summer, beat a top 150 player, the week after her run in Wimbledon juniors.
Why's Watson a better prospect than any of the others ? I'd probably give her a qualies wc...give Carreras the qualies wc instead of Jenny Ren whose not ready yet.
Arks, you were going to give wcs to Cunningham and Brook who are the same age as Broady and Fitzy is only a year older so age doesn't really come into account here. Both Broady and Fitzy are better prospects than either of the other two. I'd want to give wcs to some players who have a decent chance of winning a few rounds, eg:make last 16 or last 8, it'd also be interesting to see how they matched up against other top juniors of their age. Their junior rankings don't do justice to their talent.
I don't particularly think that getting completely outhit on a fast grass court would give Laura much valuable experience If it was a slower surface....
Brook and Cunningham would have been inside the top 100 had it not been for injuries. Cunningham is pretty good on grass - she took Paterson (I think) to 7-5 in one set at Surbiton last year.
