doh, maybe 2nd match, vemic a clay courter will hve extra strength in final set, al should have won in two! annoying to slip up right at the end, plenty of time to burn now till miami qualies. needs to get ti together, seems to be very inconsistent at the moment.

As you say Count Alex seems to be very inconsistent at the moment. On the plus side when his game is 'on' it's appears to be (from the scoreboards) at a much higher level than we've seen from him before so that's encouraging. Now he just needs to find that consistency, hopefully by Miami qualies.

the problem is that there are enough players who blow hot and cold - a good win one match, and then a disappointing defeat the next. unfortunately they're the kind of players who spend their careers between 100 and 150ish in the rankings!
really had high hopes for alex breaking the top 100 round the turn of the year, however he'll struggle unless he starts picking up points soon.
such is the competitive nature of the challenger circuit though that even to get to challenger q'fs, you generally have to beat at least 1 top quality player who in their own right could beat anyone outside the top 50 on their day.
its a tough world out there and consistency is the key! unfortunately boggo seems to lack it at the mo.
thats a bummer, guess he got tight right at the end, how often have we seen that, serving for the match, broken, always tend to lose. its classic. was alex gettign tired? vemic must habve played wel lto beat de voest, maybe byt he 3rd set al was starting to lose it?
