Indeed - and it's a seriously good draw too, with Nadal/Lopez playing, Federer/Allegro are also in there. Gonzalez is in there, Robredo, Nalbandian with Canas, Djokovic, Berdych... Lots of top talent on display.
I doubt there's been a doubles draw this strong for singles players in years.
Great having two sets of Brits to support. It's a shame that Auck's couldn't have picked up a partner because it would have given JL a headache in terms of selection but I suppose that would have just been greedy.
For Andy - playing doubles with Tim has got to help improve his volleying and for Jamie and Booty, well they are obviously looking a little further than that. :) Just a shame the doubles won't be shown with there being that many good players in the draw - that's one of the things I enjoy about the Wimbledon coverage, getting to watch the doubles.
Like others have said, I rather hope Andy and Tim don't do that well; for one thing I don't want them to play DC doubles! I would rather Andy has a rest day on the doubles day, and that applies to Tim too if he is playing singles.
Come to that I don't want Andy playing doubles here at all really - I would rather he saved himself to go deep in the singles. . .
i can't believe so many people don't want andy and tim to do particularly well!
personally, I want them to win the tournament, and play (and beat) murray / butorac in the final.
2 generations of british tennis coming together to play doubles - not going to happen too often in the future, if ever! so lets get behind them for what could be great viewing!
jamie murray's time will undoubtedly come in the DC - he's only young, and henman is nearing the end of his career, so if henman/murray succeeds or not, i am sure jamie murray will be part of the future of the GB davis cup team.
ultimately, this may be the final or penultimate season for henman, and him in action together with the rising star or british, and indeed global, tennis is surely not to be missed!
I personally think it is great that Andy and Tim have paired up again and hope they go far here. Obviously we don't know Lloyd's thinking about the Davis Cup doubles pairing but I have a feeling that Jamie is a shoe in, and it will be either Andy or Tim for the other place, no matter how well the all Brit pairing do this week (I think he'll rest at least one of them for reverse singles seeing as he can now rely on Jamie to compete at the top level of doubles).
If anyone wants a "what if" for Jamie, Andy and Tim this week let me know and I'll attempt to put one together!! (For Andy and Tim it will be estimated based on other players current doubles ranking)
Indian Wells "what if" for Jamie Jamie currently WR43 on the latest ATP doubles rankings (10th with Butorac in the race) Jamie currently WR43 on the latest live ranking (8th= with Butorac in the race)
