Amer Delic has had a very good start to the season, recording wins over players like Goldstein, Kohlschreiber and Simon, and has stretched players like Haas and Korolev in recent weeks.
So a straight sets win over the current world #90, in which he was only really pushed at the end of the match, is a very good win for Bogdanovic - one that should fill him with confidence and hopefully see him repeat this sort of performance tomorrow to get into the main draw.
Alex can be very proud of his work today - but must stay focused on the larger goal of making the main draw. One more opponent stands in his path.
A bit tense at the end there, and to be honest, I was sure he was going to lose serve, but he managed to pull it out in the end and claim a good win
Hopefully this will just be the start of a good week for him, and he can follow it up with a win over Dlouhy or Odenisk (will be a totally different match, with them both being baseline hackers so to speak), and make the main draw
Boggo seems to be heavily reliant on his first serve at the moment, as when he gets it in, he pretty much always wins the point, but the second serve is a bit more flimsy, and he doesnt win enough points of it.
But a good win here, and it's another win over a top 100 player to add to his collection
I think Alex can be very pleased that, when the second set really got very tight and Alex had to start saving break points, he managed to stay solid, not panic, and get himself back out of trouble. It would have been very easy for him to drop serve on one of those points and then this match would have had a completely different complexion - you felt Delic was working his way into it. Alex did a great job to hang tough at the end and slam the door.
thats a good draw tho, as it means he will have played a qualifer, and got to the 1nd round, where andy should beat him. alex would be happy wiht a second round here i am sure.

"I thought I played pretty solidly all round," said Bogdanovic.
"I served pretty well and was generally in control of the points. I had a few chances to go a double break up in the second set and I didn't take them - then he had chances to break back.
"But I kept my composure to get a good win."
