Same question could be asked for the match against Okun in the Israel DC tie last July.

I'm beginning to think that Brits are fated with trying to qualify for these masters series in Indian Wells and Miami. Parmar and Martin Lee both lost several times at the final hurdle in Miami. Rusedski is struck down by flu just before Indian Wells this year, Anne misses a great chance to make it through by just being unable to hold serve at all and now Alex gets injured having outplayed Dlouhy for a set.
Not been a great week for British mens tennis: Baker loses in the Jersey quarters , Morgan breaks his knee and could be out for months, Ward battles through a 128 player qualies draw only to get outplayed in rd1 and end up with no points and now Alex.
Hopefully Josh and Mackin can both make the finals to rejuvenate things a bit on the mens side
there had to be somehign wrong, there is no way it could go that bad for alex, yes he might not handle nerves too well, but to lose 11 stright games ust doesnt add up.

I'm sure we'll find out what happened soon enough - whatever the cause, that's a shame for Alex - it was a winnable match but somehow, something went horribly wrong.
THe las time he held serve early in the 2nd set...there seemed to be a delay or pause....mayb alex had hurst himself then....as from then on he went on to lose 11 games?
Yup the last set and a half was a misery to follow, it aint gonna be fun for Boggo. You never wish injury on anyone, but sometimes it's the explanation you hope to hear.
not fun to follow the end of that match after such a good start. As you say Armchair I almost hope that injury is the reason behind that score. Presumably Alex will now head to Miami qualies? (unless he is forced out by injury) and I hope he can come back strong.
If it is injury then I think he can still take a lot of confidence from these qualies, he thrashed the 6th seed and outplayed the 16th seed for a set. If it wasn't injury then either Dlouhy suddenly had a blinder or Alex needs to work on his consistency and concentration.
