I tihnk Tim Henman is one of the best at this! His leaving has always been exemplary.

My only worry is whether the screesn will mean less spectators...

but it says they are upping the seats by 400 anyway so i woundlt worry johnny.

Ah. They added the last bit after I saw the page!

"Meanwhile, the Centre Court capacity is being increased by more than 400 to 6,858 and all additional seats will be made available to the general public.

The tournament takes place from 11-17 June."

Wasn;t there originally!

Thats good. Its excellent. In some ways Queens Centre court is my favourite court in tennis!

I would love to go watch some of the Queens tennis but it's always been at the wrong time of year ie mid exams or just during term. One day though...

Glad to see they've gone for using Hawk-Eye. Queens is always one of the best tournaments of the year, top quality field and lots of Brits, what more could you ask for?!

personally i'm not a huge fan of hawk-eye, and believe it can be inaccurate at potentially crucial times!

though of all the surfaces to use it on, I think grass would be the best

I like it because it gives finality to the decision, there's no way you can argue with it (despite it not being 100% accurate). Also it adds an extra dimension, and gives some insight into the minds of the players, when are they willing to stake a point, and one of their challenges, on their belief the call was wrong and when are they playing mind games with the opponent?

Good call - there were some very dubious calls last year in the Henman-Hewitt match and I think Hawkeye will come into its own on grass.

In the Federer-Djokovic match, on match point for Fed in the second set tiebreaker....

Federer hit a winner down the line, Djoko challenged and the shot was out. I used my sky+ to watch the shot in slo-mo a few times and I was certain that the ball actually landed inside the line. Wasn't even on the line, never mind over the wrong side of it. I am 100% certain that Hawkeye got that one wrong, it was so clear it was unreal. As it was, Djoko won the point and ended up winning the set.

Just rewatching that point now and to me it's definitely on the outside of the line, but I can't tell if it touches or not. Problem with the camera angles is that it can make balls that are in look out and vice versa. It's not a clear decision at all from how I see it.

watching it in slower motion it does look on the line, I have to admit...but as I say with the angle of the camera so the lines are appearing to come towards each other, and the fact it was the far end of the court...sometimes it can be misleading. What we needed was a proper slo-mo of that shot from the camera crew and we didn't get one, only Hawkeye.

It's funny how they tell us that it's very accurate, accurate as it currently can be and good enough for the ATP to use officially, better margin of error than the human eye, and yet...sometimes the results just look wrong - exaggerated.

I think there must be a party line they have to tow on this. Not once have I ever heard a commentator question a call made by Hawkeye, although I have heard people who know a lot more about the technology used than I do question it's accuracy. Also, as you saw there, a call made by Hawkey that appears to be questionable is not replayed in slow-mo on camera.
