Italy F4 - Siracusa - 2007.

Oh yeah! It's all coming together...

Morgan is THE MAN! That was a piece of news worth getting up for!

I don't think he'll waste it in R2 this week! I think last week R2 was his 6th match in 6 days. He's well rested this week!

again!

Great result for Morgan. At a time when there's too many brits throwing the bulldog spirit out the window we still have Morgan Phillips. A man who's prepared to mix it with the best and then crumble embarassingly against the worst. ;)

Fingers crossed he can get through the next round.

What a stunning result, bravo to Morgan!

Part1 of Drew's prediction correct, let's hope part2 isn't so accurate.

I don't think he'll lose this time. Remember that he was tired last time and injured before that.

Morgan for the title.

Got to love the Morgan!

Seems to always pull something out of the bag when you least expect it.
Seeds must dread being paired with him in a draw, and he seems to thrive on it!

Legend.

Morgan must be one of the most popular players out here!

He needs to make the semis out here to crack the top 550.

Quarters will get him to 43 points, which is where the players ranked between 548 and 553 are. But Morgan has taken more events than most of them, so he'll need some people to drop points.

What a great result ! an odd scoreline tho, being breadstuck in the 1st set and then bagelling in the 3rd. i wonder if Pablo picked up some minor injury in the 2nd set or got cramped? i certainly hope not .. i hope he was playing his best tennis!

Go Morgan!!

love the mangling of the English language there, very descriptive.

Lol ... yes, breadstick deserves to be liberated from it's noun status. imo it fully deserves to be a verb and adjective aswell.

Mors plays Photos Kallias of Cyprus in round two.

Kallias is now ranked outside the top 900, but he was a top 500 player this time last year. His best result from the recent past is a semifinal appearence on Brazilian clay.

Oh no, poor Morgan.

Just when we thought his luck with draws couldn't get any worse, that hardly seems to matter any more. From Fabio on MTF:

"Morgan Phillips was 6-2 4-2 in his second round, but then he retired...serious injury for him: an italian player say that Phillips is broken his knee...."

What a nightmare, just when he was doing so well. Hard to know what to say.

This cannot be true. I don't want this to be true.

Hopefully this is some mistake.

I'm sure we all hope it's some mistake, or at least that it's not as bad as it sounds, but Fabio usually knows what he's talking about. Life's not fair, is it.

If true, then that is terrible news for him, and just when it looked as if everything was coming together for him

Hopefully it isn't as bad as that, and he is back playing in a few weeks, but it sounds like the kind of injury that could keep him out for a few months at least
