GB F5 - Jersey 15K (Indoor Hard)

Doubles QF's

Baker/Qureishi bt (2) Crugnola/Ianni 6-3 6-2

Goodall/Hutchins bt Wright/Irdoja 6-3 6-3

Doubles semis

GoodallHutchins vs Simon Cauvard/Nicolas Tourte (Cauvard must be unranked as they have no doubles ranking despite Tourte being top 300.)

Baker/Qureishi vs Hemmes/Olejniczak

Looking oggd for British interest on both sides of the net in the final!

choker for Baker in the singles today...

Still not worried though! He's shown enough this year for us to know he's on the right track!

Dohhhhhhhh! I make my worst error of the week and you put it on the homepage! LOL - it's not Wollongong points Jamie is defending this week, it's Hamilton (NZ) points.

Can you tell that I'm quite embarrassed?

Edit: Managed to change it myself. It never said Wollongong at all, officer, really!

Gulping gargoyles.

Sandbichler is playing way above his level at the moment, but I didn't even fear a loss out here, let alone expecting one.

... and here was me thinking yesterday's result was as bad as it could get this week

The only other time Sandbichler beat a Brit was when he took out Colin Fleming in Mexico in 2005. Since then, he's lost to both Jonny and Josh in straights.

That's a very disappointing result after 3 good wins for Josh, edged out in another final set tiebreak.

Apart from the Qureshi match, the close matches just haven't gone his way this year At least he's finally got some wins, hopefully he and Jamie can make up for these losses in Sunderland next week.

There seems to be something about the courts in Jersey, the players expected to do win or reach the final, almost always don't. Lots of surprises seem to happen, eg Simon Harston coming from nowhere to make the final in 2005 and Ian Flanagan stringing some wins together for the first time in months last autumn, he made the semis.
