Qualifying round:
Heather Watson [1003] beat seventh seed Ginet Pinero [973] of Venezuela by 62 46 63.


Heather was tested beyond what I expected, but she qualified and that's what matters.



First round:

Terrible luck for Heather as she draws the top seed early on just like last week. I think that she still doesn't have the game to trouble top 200 opponents, but this girl has major potential and it's just a matter of time before she gets there. Let's hope for a shock upset.

Heather plays her singles match tonight. She lost to the same girl by 0 and 3 last week.


She got a good doubles partner in the form of Nicole Bartnik, who won the title in El Salvador last week. Bartnik has played a few times with both Heather and Tara, so she must be one of their friends from IMG.
