Of course it's not wrong or unusual!!! I have lived all my life in India but I've spent days in a row trying to find out who the hottest ten year old in Britain is. It's your life and you are the one who's going to decide whom to support. Country has nothing to do with it.
If there's anything in tennis which warms my heart up, it's a foreigner like myself shouting for Brits.
Yes. Thanks. From my point of view everybody prefers someone rather than others. I would never hate other players. They are all professionals and I respect them. But of course, Tim is my number one in tennis due to his manner, attitude, style of play, what he says, and he is also Englishman.

It has nothing to do with how good, or bad, we are. If Greg doesn't get enough matches under his belt he shouldn't be playing in the DC because there are other guys who deserve to be their ahead of him.

Tim is also my fav player of all time and by miles. In fact I only got into tennis watching 1996 Timbledon. The way he plays, his style, what he has done without some of the great talent others have has always appealed to me. I also like his style of play. Players like Tim, Greg, Pistol Pete, Todd Martin, Edburg, I just love their style and wish we had more up and coming net rushers. It is funny, my son plays tennis (not sure if you have seen the videos) and the other kids have parents who have played for years and ask if I play....I was never raised watching or playing tennis, it was Tim that got me into the game and over the years I have had so much pleasure watching his matches.
I wish with all my heart that he had won Wimbledon. That would be have been amazing. I felt for sure that he would win it in 2001 and also felt once he had the Aussie Open on his raquet....I even thought for a moment he would win the French and was bouncing around, but it was not to be, but still....I have had an amazing riding following his fortunes....I wish I could thank him.
Tim is like a brave musketeer from 16th century. Instead of a cord he holds a racquet but his heart is there. He has always been fairly calm on the court. Still keeps working hard and keeps trying to do the right things with all honesty. Last true cavalier on Pro tour without a doubt. I raise the hat to you Tim!

Found out this morning why Greg turned down that Indian Wells wildcard. Apparently he had flu earlier this month, he wanted to play in Indian Wells but a doctor warned him that the long flight to the States could lead to a recurrence of the illness.
I turned to a big supporter of him in 2004 but I was amazed him in 2000 when Czech Republic played against GB. You know, his manner, style of play, look,... . So since 2000 I have always prayed for him even against Czech players! Yes, watching his matches is not easy but I have never turned the TV off. You know when he wins I have immediately fantastic mood but even if he loses, he is still class and he always tries his best. I also play tennis and
it's interesting to see that we have almost similar style or his game suits me best. So I'm always watching also his patterns, approaching shots, volleys,... . Of course, he is a much better player but my game and results have improved very quickly. Last year he played unbelievebly well especially at Queen's. Against Delgado and Mahut I wasn't even nervous as he played his best tennis. Typical nerveracking match last year was against Hewitt in Miami. I don't know how many set points he had in the first set, 6 or more on his serve but couldn't take them. The set went to a breathtaking tiebreak and finally Tim got it. Mentally it was totally draining for me.
Do you remember that amazing match he had in the opening tie of that Czech Republic DC match, coming back from 2 sets to love down to win on the clay. It was a shame that we had no one else available for that tie who would have had the slightest chance of winning a singles rubber.
Yeah Queens was an amazing tournament for him, he was simply brilliant against Agassi in rd1, one of the best matches I've ever seen him play. He simply dominated from the baseline, the forehand was just on fire throughout that tournament. Without those dodgy calls against Hewitt I think he would have made the final and won the title.

I agree totally, with the Murrays and Henman, we should have wrapped up the tie after day 2. If Greg isn't playing well enough, his place in the squad should go to Bloomfield, Baker or Mackin each of whom has done well enough this year to merit a place.
His attitude this year has surprised me, John Lloyd has made it clear that he wants Greg to have some matches under his belt and prove that he's worth a place in the squad. I expected Greg to come out in Jan-Feb and play several challengers, possibly Wrexham, Wroclaw, Bergamo etc but he hasn't done anything. As a former winner I would have thought he could have got a wc for San Jose if he'd asked. At the moment it's looking like Sarajevo will be his only tournament before the DC.
