Bogdanovic v Querrey

It was a bad draw for Boggo. Querry is just a guy who is going to settle at a level higher than the one Boggo will settle at. I still don't think Querry is going to be a top 10 player or a Slam challenger, but he's a solid top 30 guy and Alex would need to play really well to beat a guy like that.

Obviously the pressure of his audience must have been strange for him. It's funny - Andy said on his message board last night that he was going to go watch Boggo play. He never mentioned everyone else who was going to be there though. :) ATP site says that Brad is coaching Alex now. I thought Boggo had hooked up with Lungdren? Maybe they are referring to Brad's occassional coaching of other British players, but it didn't come across as an occassional thing they way they wrote it.

yeah the whole coaching thing is causing much confusion, at the moment boggo is being coached by peter Lundgern AND brad gilbert. not bad for a player on the edge of 150. any you wonder why djokvic might want to join - his coach anybody?

Gilbert and Lundi have contracts with the lta, Lundi will work with boggo for about 20 weeks in the year and come to a few events with him. Lundi will also work with Goodall. Gilbert is mainly with murray, but will also help out the others from tiem to time (the lta is paying him remeber), like early last winter they had a session at queens.

it seems to be a goo arrangment, the key thing is gettign the best out of gilbert and lundi to the players that need him. Gi;bert effetc on murray has obviusly bene huge, no disprect to the petch but would murray be 13 now if he had stcuk with him. I think we have also seen good progess from baker and bloomers too. its hard to tell on boggo at the moment. his results havebnt been as good, but he has been pushing at a higher lvl this year. he hasnt played a 25k challneger for ages now, so its bound to take time to adjust. (his last 25k was shrewsbury which he won and then b4 that the nottignham one)

Well if you can't get to the top 100 with the input of Gilbert and Lungdren then you're probably never going to get there.

It's good for Alex - I'm glad he's pushing himself because he needs to. He's more talented than the level he's playing at the moment. Obviously it would be great if he could go a couple of rounds at an ATP tournament and get his confidence going but it must be helping his game, and his attitude, just to mixing it with guys at the higher level.
