Sam Querrey will be a very tough opponent. The 19 year old has shot up the rankings in the past two years to 92. In 2006, he won 3 challengers and enjoyed a fine spell on the ATP tour in the summer, beating players like Vince Spadea, Alberto Martin, Janko Tipsarevic and Philipp Kolschreiber and he also took a set off Rafael Nadal. He's enjoyed a fantastic start to 2007, reaching round 3 of the Aussie Open before losing to Robredo in 4 sets and last week he made the quarters of Memphis, losing to eventual champion Tommy Haas. Querrey is a typical hard hitting American, he's 6ft 6 and his game is based around a massive first serve and forehand.
Hopefully Alex can continue his amazing performances in this tourney, if he beats Querrey it'll be some win
What a rubbish draw. Let us hope that the serve won't be on today.
I think that Boggo has a decent chance in any case. He seems to be playing better that I've ever seen him (well, Livescored him) play. Bozo's serve is almost as good as Querrey's, so it was a nice warm up.
It's a horrible draw for Boggo. I don't think Querry is as good as the hype he's getting but he is a very good young player and it will be incredibly difficult for Alex tonight. Fingers crossed though, if he plays a good match he definitely has a chance of winning.
bozo dint serve too well it seems, although he did pick it up in the 2nd set, but alex serve looked great, just from the stats, 1st % of 76, won 81% on 1st and 90% on 2nd!
if he can keep it that tight v Sam then he has a chance.

Sam Querrey is a big SoCal kid playing a short drive from Thousand Oaks (3 hours). He will be up for this with family there. He is also having a great year and his serve will fire through the air at that altitude. I don't think Alex could have asked for a tougher draw. I think big Sam could well be top 30 before the end of the year....
Sam Querrey vs. Alex Bogdanovic Meet Mr. Sam, a big-serving, long and lanky American who spent a few years as a child in Las Vegas. He since moved on to Southern California, and has built a game based on a hearty appetite for risk and excitement - quite the contrast with his laid-back persona. Gee whiz, look at that, he seems to say as he steps up to bang a serve or whip a forehand. Bogdanovic is a grinder of sorts, able to cover the court nicely. He can play not to lose, but how’s he going to win this one? Querrey in two.

I think that he'll be top 30, too. He will go far in his career.
While his ranking isn't as impressive as the other good 1987 players (Murray and Djokovic), we should also consider the fact that he lost more than a year as he was playing high school tennis full time even when he was nearly 17! Then he got his US Open Junior wild card and became the only player to take a set off Andy, and got his first men's ranking point the very next week. Has improved fast since then. Seems to have the game to trouble the big names as he has taken sets off a few top 10 players.

I didn't know big Sam lived in Vegas for a while. That is a new one on me....I thought he was born in NoCal and then moved to SoCal and grew up there.
I will say that I like the idea of playing a little High School tennis esp if you are in SoCal with good hitting partners and college players all around. Some kids have a real tough time being away from home and that can effect developement although I expect other players thrive being away from home.....
