Race To Shanghai!

Jamie and Eric Butorac have been one of the best partnerships of the season so far. Till this point of time they are yet to lose a match even though they have played eleven times.

Brad Gilbert thinks that they can make it to the year ending Masters Cup if they play like this. What do you think their Race ranking will be at the end of the season?

Hello, James. Welcome to the site.

Good to see that you liked Dan. He really had Poldma in his grasp that much but couldn't win. But he became the youngest player to win a round last year in any case, so he can make some good progress this year.

I reckon they'll make top 8 in the race. They're 10th at the moment.

The key will obviously be the slams, if they can make 1 semi-final or a couple of quarters then that should secure things and the way they've been playing, who would bet against them doing that as long as they avoid the Bryans. The toughest part of the year could be the clay season, that's a bit of an unknown, we know that they're both superb on US hard courts and indoors and their games will suit grass very well but the clay tournaments require different tactics - the players tend to stay at the baseline a lot more. Jamie adapted well at challenger level last year, making two finals in Italy with Delgado, it'll be interesting to see if he can take that to the main tour

I've gone for 9-12th. I hope they finish in the top 8 but it's a long way away yet and we don't know what they'd be like in the masters/slams.

If they can get into all the masters and play together for the whole year then I think they have a super chance of being top10 at the end of the year. Hope so anyway!

Doesn't really matter now if they are splitting.
