Thanks Johnnylad.

Anne seems unable to hold her serve for toffee. grr. currently 51 down, I fear she's heading for a breadstick this set.

Unfortunately Anne has retired I thought there must have been something wrong for her to be dropping her serve so much

Maybe a recurrence of the problem she had in Tipton a couple of weeks ago ?

nope, Anne's retired. I was beginning to wonder with the long break.

I would expect the problem is shoulder or back, something that hampers her serve anyways. Hope it's not too serious.

She gets a whopping 1 point. There's 2 more qualifying rounds (both against tougher opposition) and if she makes it through those she gets a massive 3 points in total.

Tonight Katie plays 20 year old Czech 2nd seed Sandra Zahlavova, who's ranked about 40 places higher at 147 and beat veteran South African Nathalie Grandin in 3 sets in rd1. Zahlavova has been playing WTAs and 75Ks so far this year, with just 1 main draw win (in the Midland 75K). She qualified for the AO and Gold Coast in Jan.

In 2006 she made three 25K finals, 4 semis and two 50K quarters. She has her best results on clay and slow hard courts.

Anne K beat him 0-6, 6-2, 6-4 in the USA

Wow, didn't realise Anne K was good enough to compete on the ATP tour these days
