UEFA champions league

Knockout stage....

Great win for my team (Man U) last night in a tricky away tie against Lille. It was a scrappy match, one of the worst pitches I've seen. We were a bit sloppy in defence and Lille were in control for most of the match, had a goal correctly disallowed in the 2nd half - was a great decision from the ref as it was a tricky foul to see.  Great piece of thinking from Giggs secured the winner, 7 min from time as Lille took too long to get their wall organised and he took the free kick early. Lille threatened to walk off the pitch   but changed their mind. Ferguson and pundits were furious, think that Lille should be chucked out.

However, disappointment for Count's Arsenal. Absolute thunderbolt from Mendes from 30 yards out gave PSV a 1-0 win. Still think that Arsenal will win though. They've got much more class than PSV and have got the home tie to come.

Celtic did well to hold AC Milan to 0-0 but to be honest they really needed to win that tie given that they're heading to the San Siro in 2 weeks time.

Real Madrid-Bayern Munich tie in two weeks time is going to be fascinating. Real won the home leg 3-2 but Bayern have the 2 away goals so it's on a knife-edge now.

That was such a disappointing performance from ARsenal yesterday. None of them looked to have the drive and i thought Ljungberg should have come on to inject pace and precision going forward. I'm still quite confident that will go through at the emirates.

I'm a Real Madrid supporter, although my contract with them will run out in the next few months. Most probably some time in early April.

Yesterdays match was prety satisfying except for that last goal.

The footie coverage out here must be one of the best in the world. Pity that I have sort of moved away from the game since I started liking tennis.

Just to make you feel a bit jealous - we get seven sports channels for around one pound.

i was very disapointed with arsenal last night. the whole team just seemed scrappy, psv played well. i have no idea why he brought baptitsa on instead of freddie. the team where clearly losing their heads and forgotten what 1st touch means julio is not goin gto chnage that. maye freddy could have brought a bit of calm.

playing gallas wide was a mistake i think too. i would probably have started:
L-R Clichy, gilberto, gallas, toure
rosicky, denilson, fabregas, helb
henry, addy.

but henry just doesnt seem interested, for me he is no captian really, not at the moment anyhow, he was very poor last night. i jst couldnt belive what i was watching.

back on arsenal, i am not so confiednt we will go through, we have now gone through 2 games with no goals!! teams are figuring us out. psv defend well, and have a good keeper, and cosidering how often we let a stupid goal in i find my confidence very low. hopefully a good show vs chelsea at the weekend will help.

Wow, what a win for Liverpool. Shame that despicable little imp Bellamy had to score.

Amazing win for Liverpool, absolutely stunning result ! Never thought they'd manage anything like that !

What do you think of Chelsea's result against Porto ? Could have been worse, they came close to losing that match but now they've got the away goal and have a home tie to come up

Did you read that story that in Barcelona, Bellamy booked karaoke for the entire team but Riise who's quite shy didn't want to do it. Bellamy had a massive row with Riise who went back early to the hotel. Bellamy followed him back, kicked open Riise's door and hit him around the legs with a golf club !

Yeah, I hate Bellamy with a passion. Liverpool used to be a proud club, they should never be putting up with stuff like what he did to a team mate. Kick him out the door like all the other clubs he has disgraced.

Liverpool was born by jealousy, by rich people who couldn't get into Everton's team buying the ground from under their feet and starting their own team. From that point on they have always been a club obsessed with money, and a club that apart from Carragher and Gerrard have not produced anyone in the last ten years, buy their success in exactly the same way as Chelsea but don't get the bad press for it coz they don't do it as well.

Bellamy is exactly the sort of lying, dishonest, criminal, rat of a player that a club like theirs deserves!
