i think sanders has given up on the hurdles by now, im pretty sure ive heard tony lester say that they're focusing on the flats.
yeah i agree with you about McConnell but either way i dont think she's ever going to be a regular world beater in either event. Sanders will be soon in the flats (she is pretty much now!).......
Lol, we need to enlighten you on athletics Arky. Sotherton's been one of the top 5 heptathletes for the past 4 years. She's also the hottest heptathlete I've seen.
I'm amazed that football is so popular in India ? Is it because of Beckham ? I wonder why India don't have a better national team
Are you guys pretty good at table tennis and badminton ?
Hmm.. I don't mind learning a bit about it, but I'll have to quit studies if I get addicted to another sport.
It amazes me as to why we are so bad at footie. Okay, there is hardly any investment into the game, but we should be one of the top ten teams in Asia even then.
Yeah, we are pretty good at badminton and half decent at table tennis. I love playing both of those games!
Woohoo, Karen Harewood from Corby Athletic Club. Fame for our small town at last!

Great chance for Nathan Douglas to get his first championship gold medal, on home turf
Unfortunately Ashia Hansen won't be there, couldn't get anywhere near qualifying standard of 14.20m. Doubt she's got too many seasons left in her now, she's 35. Next season could be her last. Feel really sorry for her as her career's been ruined by a series of horrific injuries. When she's managed to remain injury-free she's been one of the world's best, would have surely won several world and Olympic medals by now
Britain's Helen Clitheroe is a big medal chance in the women's 1500m. She has the fastest time in the world so far this year and has won several big races.
woah this rushed up so quickly! We (GBR) have had some very good performances today but right now Andy turner and allan Scott is in the 60m hurdles final.
Turner wasnt impressive in the first few rounds but here's hoping he can turn it on...i hope he can as for me he's our best athlete at these competition in terms of development (not raw talent) apart from Nicola Sanders. Scott did excellent to get through....
Nope, neither of the brits got anything. I feel gutted for Turner - you could see how devestated he was after the race and for once a british athlete (i hope Mark Lewis Francis was listening) didn't make any excuses and admitted that he made mistakes.
Anyways, only the pentathlon final event (800m) left today.
Ennis led for the first few events but let things slide and she now lies in fifth or sixth after the long jump which proved to be her achilles heel again. Sotherton had a great day with a number of PB's and led Kluft by 2 points going into the Long Jump but now trails by 20 odd. Kelly is still in with a shout cos she is probably marginally the better 800m runner although the swede is decent at it and has a better indoor 800 record.
Well that's the end of a very entertaining day, and GBR end up with only a silver medal. Quite a mixed bag really. I had high hopes for today but Turner's loss wasn't great, and karen harewood's injury was really quite sad. However, most of the Brits that would have been expected to qualify, did so comfortably.

Karen Harewood was injured? :( Thought someone from Corby might actually do something worthwhile for once.

Really badly. She was leading her heat but was clipped by the athlete behind her (accidently) and triped over and turned her leg and everyone behind her bar 2 athletes fell over. Harewood didnt get up for ages and it turns out that she's fractured her femur
