Too much work... too little time. I am spending huge amounts of time away from home and there never seems to be time to log in. I am still an avid reader though.

Just to cap a rubbish day in the Challengers ...

R1: Richard Bloomfield WR 176 lost to (8) Sergei Stakhovsky (UKR) WR 175 by 4 & 3
R1: Greg Rusedski WR 245 lost to (7) Kenneth Carlsen (DEN) WR 172 by 4 & 5

Richard should have been more than capable of beating Stakh if his serve was working, though it was always going to be tough. Unfortunately, according to MTF, he came up short.

Greg lost his 6-match unbeaten record against Carlsen, the player he got his last win against (in Dnepro) in a "The day I lose to Kenneth, I'll know it's time to hang up my racquet" type situation.

Hopefully he won't, now he's in the DC squad. It's a very sad day for him though.

No, and yes, I agree that they should have. There was even a bye in the doubles draw, so no doubt that they would have got in.

i cant believe he didnt enter! why not, does he think his body isnt up to it? if so he shouldnt be in the team. and does he think he will get a singles berth over tim/andy? only a dead rubber. maybe he knows thats what he will get anyway.

Maybe Bloomers wouldn't have him? I mean, Richard does have standards. Oops (remembers when Richard played doubles with Adam L), no that can't be the reason!

More seriously, I think they might have made quite a good scratch doubles pair, so it's a pity they didn't give it a go.

I hope that Greg will ask for a wild card into Miami qualies.
I don't see how he'll be denied one - IMG manages this event and that's where Greg's agent is from, plus he is a Bollettieri graduate.

He got a wild card into Indian Wells, and didn't bother to go. . . Would he go to Miami if he did get one?
