Good draw for Jade. I think that she is underranked by a few hundred places and will have a good chance out here.

Two British matches played today and it's not good news

E Sema (Jap) bt A Smith (GB)(8) 6-4, 6-1

Ye-Ra Lee (Kor)(3) bt L Fletcher (GB)(q) 6-1, 6-0

Jade plays tomorrow (tonight GMT)


I'm quite amazed at Anna's result, I was so impressed by her in Sutton. Obviously I don't know the ins and outs of her match and have never seen her opponent play but her game is so big that I thought that she'd win these kind of matches quite comfortably.

Anna hits the ball very flat and really goes for her shots so I guess it's quite a high risk method of playing. Maybe if her opponent is able to mix her game up to disrupt Anna's hitting rhythm or conditions are windy etc then things may go awry.
