I presume Boggo will be trying for the Sunrise challenger if he isn't still involved in Indian Wells? Guessing his ranking won't be enough to get direct entry, but will he try and qualify?
looking further ahead, cardiff has its challenger again.
If i was in alex shoes (and assuming he isnt at atp lvl by then) i would probably take a week off after cardiff, there not mch on then anyway, b4 playing 3 challengers on clay then RGQ. he has avoided clay like the plague recently (last year rgq, year 4 1 ch + rgq:), but i wonder if his new coaches will psuh him on to it?

He probably does need to play a bit more on clay if he is ever going to make the top 100 as it would give him another surface to gain a lot of points on.
I would also take that week off, but would maybe play Lanzarote (hard courts) the following week, and then play 2 weeks on clay before RGq's, as it would probably give him a better chance to gain points
If he does play on clay, then I would go Rome, Telde, San Remo as they are the weakest events, and so likely to have the weaker clay court players, which would enable Boggo to pick up a few more points, as well as getting in a bit more match practise on the clay
I've found the qualifying draws for the first 2 clay court events from last year

If Boggo was going to try ATP qualies in a clay event, I would stay away from the Spanish events, as even though it doesnt look too strong, there are enough clay court journymen who could have something to trouble Boggo. Houston on the other hand....
Count Zero wrote: whats indoor clay? i notice some challenger about with icl descriptions (like france in 2nd week miami). surely a bit messy?
so now there are 2 types of clay?
i wonder how mayne types of surface there are for the proffesional player?
you have clay, differnt clay, infoor hard, indoor carpet, rebound ace, grass, the weird stuff in dubln, indor clay, any others?
The descriptions I have seen on drawsheets include:
Red clay (e.g. RG, also known as 'terre battue'), green clay (also called Har-Tru and used a lot in the US), crushed dung ('merde battue' to the French? )
