Currently ranked 95 with a high of 82 last October he has won several challenger titles and again is the Canadian No 1. Has also taken sets of the likes of Hewit, Gasguet and Roddick.
The highest ranked player he beat last year I think was Guillermo Garcia-Lopez WR77 at the time.
But Tim Henman beat him easily in Tokyo last year and canno see him troubling Andy !
Andy to win, but I have a feeling Dancevic will take a set off him, as he seems to be able to trouble the top players without beating them. Adding to the fact Murray has to be tiring (although I guess he won't play until Wednesday), Murray to win, but in 3
With Andy having rest before Wednesday, he should beat Dancevic comfortably! Plus it might be a night match, so another nervous wait for us all in Britain!!!
was he showing signs of tiredness in the firnal against karlovic? He played a number of consecutive matches last august (way more than he has so far - 14 in aboud 19 days and he only showed really tiredness in the last couple of matches) and since he's supposedly got much fitter over the winter i dont think he will be as tired as is being made out.
I agree with your first statement. I don't think Andy will be too tired this week. I hope he's not playing after this week before Indian Wells though as (hopefully) 7 straight weeks of tournaments would be too much!.

I don't think he was tired at the end of San Jose and he should be able to despatch Dancevic fairly comfortably so I'm saying Andy in 2.
I also believe he's down for a rest/training week last week, prior to Indian Wells, so that's good scheduling on his part. He should only consider playing next week if he loses very early here in Memphis, heaven forbid - if so I bet he could get a wildcard from Las Vegas

Yeah i think you're right and i dont think andy is playing next week. He isnt on the entry list for las vegas so hopefully he can rest and just do a little practicing. The big names are in Dubai that week so will have to travel quite a bit. i think he Murray has a good shot there if he keeps up this form....
I went for Andy in three. Dancevic is one of those guys who can cause you problems if you're not on your game.
Andy didn't look tired after the Karlovic match so I don't think fitness will be an issue - especially after having a couple of days off. It's just how quickly he can get used to the courts. I can't remember but was it these courts he hated last year? Actually it was maybe the Vegas conditions when he played Robredo I think.
Andy in two. Dancevic shouldn't cause any problems whatsoever for the world's second best player.

In Andy's quarter of the draw yesterday, Evgeny Korolev beat 7th seed Robbie Ginepri, 7-6(4), 4-6, 6-3 and now plays Stefan Koubek (who beat Simon Greul 6-3, 7-6(3)).
In the other half of the draw, Xavier Malisse retired a set down to Gabashvili.

It was the conditions in Vegas. It was extremely windy and Andy really struggled to keep the ball in play against Robredo that day, he lost 2 and 2 in the end. Think he was still a bit jaded from the San Jose run too.
However, I don't think there will be any fitness problems this week, he's one heck of a lot fitter this year- he couldn't have gone 5 full sets with Nadal last year. Last year, the week in San Jose was quite emotionally draining for him as it was his first ATP title and first time he'd beaten guys of the class of Roddick and Hewitt. The Karlovic final this year was pretty nerve-racking but not as draining as that marathon against Hewitt.
