QR1: (q8) Alex Bogdanovic WR 150 v Cecil Mamiit (PHI) WR 191 (winner to play (q3) Bozoljac or Kuznetsov)
Mamiit won the New Orleans Challenger last September but has since suffered R1 losses in 6 of his last 7 tournaments, all Challengers. His last two matches were in the Philippines v Pakistan DC tie, both of which he won easily.
Alex has already lost to Bozo once this year, in Heilbronn in 3 sets, in a match where he had his chances, but Jamie Baker then beat Bozo convincingly in Joplin.
On Saturday, Boggo is 3rd on Grandstand B at about 20.00 GMT.

That is a really nice draw esp as Hewitt is not on top form and Tim gets to play the winner of that group if he gets through right? I hope I understand this new format correctly.
Phillip KING (USA) vs Zack FLEISHMAN (USA) followed by Danai UDOMCHOKE (THA) vs Benedikt DORSCH (GER) followed by Ryan SWEETING (USA) vs Wesley MOODIE (RSA) followed by Ilia BOZOLJAC (SRB) vs Alex KUZNETSOV (USA)
GRANDSTAND B - 9:00 AM
Paul CAPDEVILLE (CHI) vs Bobby REYNOLDS (USA) followed by Wayne ARTHURS (AUS) vs Ramon DELGADO (PAR) followed by Cecil MAMIIT (PHI) vs Alex BOGDANOVIC (GBR) followed by Chris GUCCIONE (AUS) vs Brian WILSON (USA)

Not a bad draw for Tim, as has been said he should be able to beat both players in his section (hardly surprising given he's the seed there) but it depends on his form. Hopefully he wins both matches and we don't have to worry about the maths involved in %of sets/games/points or whatever the system is!
As for further on in the tournament, Hewitt isn't at his best and as we saw this week the RR system can throw all sorts of spanners in teh works so hopefully Tim can go far.

MDE: (q8) Alex Bogdanovic WR 150 v (WC) Sam Querrey (USA) WR 92
Not a good draw for Alex, Querrey may have got a WC but he's been rising so fast recently that he is already higher-ranked than more than half of the other players in this round! The winner of this match goes into the Benneteau/Goldstein group.
Boggo is 5th on Stadium Court at about 03.00 GMT (i.e. Tuesday) - all the other singles matches are on before midnight our time, but the late start is another disadvantage of having been drawn to play the rising star of US tennis.
Lucky loser Guccione is the other possible opponent for Tim, i.e. Tim's group is now:
Henman, Mahut, Lopez/Guccione

The reasons for Querrey's rapid rise since the entry cut-off for Vegas are:
- he beat Acasuso and Serra at the AO before losing to Robredo - he walloped Economidis 0 & 2 in the MDE at Delray Beach then beat Lu and lost to Haas in the RR - he thrashed Goldstein 2 & 1 in San Jose before losing to Duckboy in two close sets - he thrashed Karlovic 3 & 2 in Memphis, then beat Benneteau before losing to Haas - Haas, btw, didn't even face a break point in any of his matches this week
So, quite scary for Boggo then ...
