Well I'm pretty sure his intentions are to make a full return to the tour. Otherwise surely the LTA wouldn't have given him a wildcard?
Is that the first time he has tasted defeat since his return? His first tournament he withdrew from the semi injured having beaten Flanagan, then he won the BTE in Corby before getting a world ranking point.

Nah you don't mate, I did a player search on LTA site for him. Lists activity in British events same as ITF does for international events. He played for his county in the LTA winter county cup. Will find out if I can look that up somewhere to see how he did. Then BTE Billesley, BTE Corby and "Cambridgeshire Matchplay Rating Matches" Not entirely sure what that consists of, think it's simply what it says. Matches that are played purely to affect LTA ratings. I'm sure one of the guys here who plays could confirm.
But that's all he's played before this week's Futures. Had 6 weeks off after withdrawing from Billesley so quite possibly had a minor injury there, then had about 3 weeks off since Corby so probably still very much short on match fitness.

He played for Cambridgeshire in Division 4B. Can't find individual match results anywhere, only overall tie results. The only match results available are for Division 1.

Getting results for 4B won't be of much use as we won't get to judge his level by looking at results against players who are mostly below top 1000 standard.
Nope, I agree. Was just interested to know if that was the first time he'd lost.

That's an awesome result for Pauffley. If he can play like that he surely has a bright future. He doesn't play Juniors for a few weeks now, so it'll be good to see him enter a few Futures.
To be fair, that would have been his very first or second match back. Hardly true form.

I didn't realise all this went on on the internet - all these forums regarding the players. I can say that Sagoo was one of the top 4 juniors in the country with Murray when he was younger and that injuries caused him to stop playing tennis for 4 years. He is now back playing full time trying to get him up to full match fitness which is a long way off but is getting better each month. However, patience is the key to his fitness and his tennis and there is a long way to go.
Welcome to the board, Laagen. Sounds like you know Sagoo, and soem of his contempories. It'd be great to hear more of your insight. Do you play yourself?
Welcome to the board, laagen. Great to see that someone actually knows what happened with him!
Could you tell us what the injury was? His ITF profile shows that his last ever match ended with a retirement. Was it that injury or was it something that happened elsewhere?
You need to be seriously unlucky to have suffered an injury that keeps you out of tennis for four years! Even the gravest ones usually heal within a year or two.
I think it was an illness that caused him to stop playing for a while He has played various NCL matches over the years but nothing serious until this last winter and now he is obviously back playing again trying to play full time seeing how it goes with his body. Apparently he trains in Cambridge where he lives.
