Tim returns to masterful inactivity this week, gaining two places as the week begins, as Moya and Clement drop below him, defending points from last year.
I'm sure Bethan will help us out with who the threats are sometime soon.......
In case you hadn't noticed, Tim isn't playing this week. A maximum of 10 players could overtake him they are: Benneteau (qf of M), Volandri (sf of C), Gicquel (sf of M), Bjorkman (sf of M), Moya (w in C), Monfils (w in M), Becker (w in S), Grosjean (w in M), Lee (w in S), Clement (w in M). Only one winner from each tournament and then the draws means:
Best case: 38(nc) Worst case: 45 (-7)

Moya and Gaudio are out Benneteau picks up a wildcard in Marseilles and wins his first round.
Today, in Marseilles:Gicquel plays Monfils; in Costa Do Sauipe, Volandri plays Kuerten (let's hope that Guga can cause a shock!); in San Jose, Lee plays qualifier King.
Rob, you have rather impressively made you whole post a link to Britishtennis.net now I know we want people to visit the rankigs page but don't you think that's a little OTT?
By the way, whats the hit count for the rankings? is it getting up to the levels that the threads (especially Andy's) attract?

Hmm. wonder how I managed to do that linking thing? Now fixed.
As for the stats: it's
total 363
today 15
yesterday 24
Feb 363
So a few, but not exactly a shedload. I think people aren't clicking through so muck from these threads. It'll be interesting to see how it goes now that we're in an "Andy Week" rather than just a Boggo/Bloomers/Josh week....

Becker advances Clement is knocked out.
Today, number 1 threat, Benneteau plays Andy competitor, Ferrer and will overtake Tim if he wins. Bjorkman plays Seppi and Gicquel plays Andy competitor, Gasquet, all in Marseille.
It's a tough one: do we support Benneteau to hold Ferrer back so that Andy can overtake him by reaching the San Jose final? Or Ferrer, so that Benneteau doesn't knock Tim back a place?? Both gicquel and Gasquet can have another win before we need to worry about them.
Tonight, Becker plays Phau and Lee plays Greul in San Jose. Chela plays Ram- Ham in CdS.
